Govt collected lowest in 19months GST in August 2019

The economy is slowing down and amid that the goods and service tax collection is also falling as the govt collected Rs 91,916 crore worth GST in August, lowest in 19 months. India's gross domestic product grew only 5% in April which is slowest in pace in the last 6 years. The market researchers feel that the upcoming festive season along with recently announced economic measures might help in increasing the GST collections.
