GST helps average Indian consumer save Rs 320 every month

On the analysis of customer expenditure data, it has been found that the implementation of GST costs consumer Rs 320 less every month in tax paid on the purchase of commonly used goods. GST has done away with the tax-on-tax system, which brought down taxes on as many as 83 items including on food and beverages as well as daily use goods. On buying items worth Rs 8400, an average Indian consumer will save Rs 320 each month.
