Industrial ice will be marked in blue in Maharashtra

Maharashtra has become the first state to mark inedible, industrial ice with blue colour. Edible ice is considered as food and is often used for storing medicines and other items. However, FDA had found that more than 70% of the edible ice used for such work is contaminated, hence the decision of marking industrial ice with blue colour was taken. The stakeholders were consulted before finalizing the decision.
