McDonald's angers China by supporting Taiwan's independence

McDonald's is facing criticism from Chinese nationalists after it aired an advertisement in Taiwan, showing a two-second glimpse of a woman’s identity card that lists her nationality as “Taiwan”. Calling it a violation of Chinese law, people have asked for boycott and expulsion of the food chain for supporting independence for Taiwan, a self-ruled island, which Beijing claims as part of its territory.
