As India is ready to welcome PM Modi for his second term, Sensex and Nifty hit their respective new highs of 40,000 and 12,000 for the first time in the morning trade on Thursday. The boost in the market comes amid the early trends showing the incumbent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leading the vote count for the 2019 Lok Sabha election and crossing the 300 seat figure. The results are in line with exit polls prediction.
