Operations of chabahar port in Iran taken over by India

In a first, India will operate a seaport outside its territory. The Government of India has taken over operations of a part of Shahid Beheshti Port, Chabahar, in the Sistan-Balochistan province of energy-rich Iran's southern coast during the Chabahar Trilateral Agreement meeting. As per the agreement, India gets the port on a 10-year lease and can operate two berths in the port with USD 85.21 million capital.
