OYO to lay off nearly 1000 people in India; CEO says 'Not an easy decision'

As per reports, OYO has decided to lay off over 1000 people in India as part of its restructuring and reorganisation of teams across businesses & functions to clip redundancy. CEO Ritesh Agarwal in an internal email said asking some colleagues to move out was not an easy decision. The company in 2020 would focus to optimise and strengthen business. He also apologised to the ones being asked to leave for the impact this is causing.
