Rs 5,029cr worth Electoral Bonds issued till 4th May: RTI reply revealed

A recent RTI reply has revealed that the State Bank of India has issued Rs 5,029cr worth Electoral Bonds in nine phases so far. SBI is the only bank that has the approval to issue electoral bonds. A total number of electoral bonds issued were 10,494 and each of them worth Rs48 lakh. The name of the individuals or companies to which these bonds were issued were not revealed in the reply, as that is exempted under the RTI act.
