SBI card to start contactless payments soon
In a major push towards digitization, SBI bank enables its Card customers to make payments by simply tapping their smartphones on swipe machines. Transactions will be Based on Host Card Emulation (HCE), which enables dematerialization of the card. SBI is planning to launch the branded app next month, which will help in virtualization of the card in smartphones using near-field communication (NFC).
