SC closes PIL against Johnson & Johnson, decides to go with compensation

The Supreme Court has closed the PIL filed against pharmaceutical giant Johnson and Johnson Pvt. Ltd over faulty hip implants after agreeing to compensate the victims on Friday as suggested by the central govt. More than 14,000 patients had to go through the surgery since 2005. The court has recommended the compensation for a victim between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 1.22 crore. The PIL was filed by AK Goenka, a businessman.
