Sensex crosses 60,000 for the first time, Nifty tops 17,900

The share market in India witnessed a sharp surge with the BSE benchmark index - S&P BSE Sensex crossing the 60,000-mark for the first time. The gains made by Infosys, HDFC Bank and TCS helped Nifty top the 17,900-mark. Sensex registered a record high of 60,312.51 with a jump of 427 points. Nifty 50 Index also registered an all-time high of 17,947. The sharp surge in the share market is a clear indication of Bulls taking control.
