Budget disappoints market: Sensex falls by over 600 points, Nifty slips below 11,800 pts

Finance Minster Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the government plans to raise money by making Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) public through IPO. As a result of the tax reliefs and the decision on LIC, Nifty slipped below 11,800 pts while market benchmark Sensex fell by over 680 points. Earlier, market benchmark Sensex slumped over 100 points in opening session today ahead of the release of the Union Budget.
