Walmart has wrapped up Flipkart acquisition with $16 billion, and it is considered to be their biggest bet in a market they’re trying to enter for some time. Before that Walmart’s biggest acquisition happened in 1999 when they bought UK grocery chain ASDA for 6.7 billion pounds. In the year 2007, Walmart spent $878 million in Japanese supermarket unit Seiyu Ltd and in 2017 they bought modcloth.com among various other deals.
