Two years after demonetization, there is more currency in circulation: RBI

While demonetization pushed Indians toward digital payments, data released by Reserve Bank of India shows that money in circulation has increased since demonetization in 2016. The current currency in circulation is 18.76 lakh crore as compared to Rs. 17.01 lakh crore 14 days before demonetization. The growth rate of currency in circulation has also increased four points from 17.7% in 2016 to 22.2% in 2018.
