US govt gives a nod to sale of $1.9 billion integrated air defence weapon system to India

The United States on Monday announced clearing the sale of an Integrated Air Defense Weapon System (IADWS) to India at an estimated cost of $1.87 billion to boost defence ties between the two countries. India got clearance just a day ahead of the US State Department's announcement regarding US President Donald Trump's visit to India. The IADWS comprises of 5 AN/MPQ-64Fl Sentinel radar systems, 118 AMRAAMs AIM-120C-7/C-8 missiles.
