Uttar Pradesh produced 177 lakh litre of sanitiser amid Covid to generate revenue worth Rs. 137 crore

Even as the entire country was reeling under Covid crisis, UP turned the crisis into an opportunity by producing a record 177 lakh litre of sanitiser from March 24 to November 15. The state generated revenue of Rs 137 crore from sanitizer production. “While more than 78.38 lakh litre of sanitiser was sold outside UP 87.01 lakh litre was consumed within the state,” additional chief secretary, excise, Sanjay R Bhoosreddy said.
