In Australia's first immunisation programme, the AstraZeneca vaccine was heavily depended on. The vaccine supply deal with AstraZeneca is not being made public because it poses a "real and serious danger" to national security. While the government has published a letter of intent, the contract with the organisation, which is estimated to be worth more than $1 billion in taxpayer cash, has never been made public.
