Brazil to purchase 20 million doses of India's Bharat Biotech Covid vaccine

In a bid to bolster its fight against the novel coronavirus, Brazil is going to purchase as many as 20 million doses of Covaxin, the COVID-19 vaccine by India's Bharat Biotech. According to Brazil's Health Ministry, the deal is worth 1.6 billion reais ($290,000). The first 8 million doses are likely to be delivered from India to Brazil in March. 1,541 new COVID-19 deaths were recorded in Brazil on Thursday.
