Delta variant fueling fresh Covid-19 outbreak in China, infections likely to increase in coming days

Wu Liangyou, an official at the National Health Commission, said in a media briefing that the fresh surge of Covid-19 cases in Chinese provinces is fuelled by the highly contagious Delta variant from overseas. The official added that the number of infections is expected to increase in the coming days. at least 11 Chinese provinces, including Gansu, have been affected by the fresh wave of the Covid-19 outbreak.
