Indonesia is the new Covid hotspot as daily cases breach 40,000-mark

Indonesia has been witnessing a rapid surge in Covid cases with the highly contagious delta variant overwhelming the country's health infrastructure. The country has emerged as a new hotspot in Asia as the daily cases there have surpassed India's daily Covid-19 case numbers. Over 47,899 coronavirus cases were recorded on Tuesday. The country reported over 9000 average deaths due to Covid in the last seven days.
