Over 900 Central government employees passed away from March to May this year

According to the officials from the central government, more than 900 central government employees passed away from March to May this year. This was 300 more than the 600 deaths last year during the same period. While the deaths came during the second wave of the pandemic, it is not clear whether Covid-19 was behind all these deaths. At least 20-30% of employees in central ministries contracted the disease.
