The authorities in Sydney have extended the mandatory mask rule in view of the biggest rise in new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in a week in New South Wales, the most populous state of the country. "At this stage, we feel that the response we are having is proportionate to the risk," New South Wales state Premier Gladys Berejiklian said. Masks will be mandatory indoors as well, for another week from Thursday morning.
