World bank against waiving intellectual property rights for Covid-19 vaccines: David Malpass

World Bank President David Malpass has said the bank is against the idea of waiving intellectual property rights for Covid-19 vaccines at the World Trade Organization. Malpass argued the move will hamper innovation in the pharmaceuticals sector. He said this during a call with reporters on World Bank economic forecasts even as World Trave Organisation talks over the proposed waiver are going on in geneva.
