34-year-old Mumbai man disguised as IPS officer tries to exhort Rs 70 lakh, arrested

A 34-year-old Mumbai-based man was arrested by the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai on Monday to extort Rs 70 lakh from a city-based jeweller. The man identified as Santosh Misal alias Sandeepkumar Meena was arrested from Nariman Point in Mumbai on Monday evening. The police also recovered two fake identity cards of the CBI and a Maharashtra cabinet minister's personal assistant from Misal.
