FIR registered against 6 people in Mumbai for stealing groundwater worth Rs. 73 crore

In what may sound like a bizarre incident, Azad Maidan Police have registered an FIR against 6 people for stealing groundwater worth Rs. 73 crore over 11 years by digging wells illegally in the Kalbadevi area of South Mumbai. Among the accused is the owners of Pandya Mansion in Bomanji Master Lane and 3 water tank operators. The accused sold nearly 6.1 lakh tankers of water at the cost of Rs. 1200 per tanker in 11 years.
