UK government cracks down on fake coronavirus news

The UK government has started cracking down on coronavirus pandemic misinformation. A rapid response unit within the Cabinet Office has joined hands with social media firms to identify fake news and harmful content like false medical information. To stem the spread of falsehoods and rumours, which could cost lives, it was needed badly. The specialist unit is working on as many as 10 incidents each day.
