Chinese app TikTok crosses 1.5 billion downloads mark, with almost 500 million in India

Chinese short video making app TikTok has surpassed the 1.5 billion downloads mark from Play Store and App Store combined. According to SenserTower's report, nearly 500 million are coming from India. SensorTower, an analytics firm said the app has been downloaded 614 million times this year, 6% more than last year. Besides TikTok, Whatsapp (707.4 million) & Messenger (636.2 million) were the only apps which were downloaded more.
