Noted jazz composer Chick Corea passes away due to cancer

Famous American jazz composer and electric keyboard pioneer Chick Corea passed away on February 9 due to a rare form of cancer. Corea was 79 when he breathed his last. "I want to thank all of those along my journey who have helped keep the music fires burning bright," a statement that he left prior to his demise read. The message was released on Facebook by Corea's team. The message further said, "the world needs more artists."
