1 in 10 hospitalised COVID-19 patients who have diabetes may die within 7 days: Study

As per a study, 1 in 10 coronavirus patients with diabetes who get admitted to the hospital may die within 7 days & 1 in 5 might need mechanical ventilation. Researchers have analysed data from 1317 coronavirus patients admitted to 53 French hospitals in March and they found that nearly 90% had type 2 diabetes while 3% had type 1 diabetes. Researchers noted that diabetic complications and old age increases death risk.
