10-year-old girl dies in Algeria during 'faith healing' ceremony

A 10-year-old girl has been killed in Algeria during a ‘faith healing’ practice after suffering blows and burns and it has sparked angry reactions. It happened in Guelma, 500 kilometres east of the capital Algiers. A 28-year-old man has been arrested after the death of the girl who had severe injuries during the ruqya (faith healing) at her family home. It is not yet clear why the girl was subjected to the ceremony.
