11 million girl students may never return to schools: UN on coronavirus crisis

According to an analysis by the United Nations, nearly 11 million girls may never return to schools once they open after nearly 5 months of lockdown. As per the report, nearly half of the world's students are yet to return to schools. "The longer schools remained closed, the more damaging the consequences, especially for children from more disadvantaged backgrounds," Audrey Azoulay, the director-general of UNESCO said.
