2 cats in New York first US pets to test positive for coronavirus

Two pet cats in New York have tested positive for COVID-19, making them the first confirmed cases in companion animals in US. The cats, with mild respiratory illnesses and expected to recover, might have contracted it from people in their households or neighborhoods. The finding which comes after positive tests in a few tigers and lions at Bronx Zoo adds to a small number of confirmed cases of the virus in animals.
