3 arrested with whale vomit worth Rs. 30 crore in Kerala's Thrissur

Ambergris, commonly known as 'whale vomit', worth around Rs. 30 crores was seized by the forest department from Chettuva in Thrissur district of Kerala. Three accused were arrested in connection with the case. The accused have been identified as Rafeeq, Faisal and Hamsa. The seized ambergris weighs about 19 kg. Hunting sperm whales that produce ambergris is a punishable crime in India under the Wildlife Protection Act.
