A video shared by freelance journalist Ahmad Algohbary on Twitter shows excited villagers hoarding a mountain in Luhihi at Congo’s South Kivu province after gold-filled areas were discovered. Videos of locals using shovels, other tools and even bare hands to dig the ground to extract gold go viral.
