In a bid to curb a sudden spike of coronavirus cases, the authorities in South Australia have announced a six-day "circuit-breaker" lockdown from midnight. The decision was taken after a surge in the cases of infection in Adelaide. Schools, restaurants and factories have been ordered to remain shut while the residents have been directed to stay at home. State premier Steven Marshall said, they must "act swiftly and decisively."
