80% Muslim students received scholarship while only 4.7% Hindus held it

It was mentioned in official data that students from the Muslim community have held about 80% of the total scholarships offered under the 20 Central government schemes in 2018-19. While those from the Christian community received 7.5% of scholarships, Sikh students bagged 5% of scholarships and Hindu students bagged 4.7% scholarships. It further stated that out of 1.4 crore applications in 2018-19, 1.08 cr were verified.
