88 mining leases in Goa squashed by SC
Supreme Court has scrapped all iron-ore mining leases in Goa over violation norms and the mining will completely be stopped after March 15, according to a television channel report. In the year 2012, the court took action against illegal mining in Goa and the industry was shut for more than 2 years. Indian steel companies do not have techs to use the iron ore produced in Goa, hence most of it goes to China.
