A cow's belly can break down plastic particles, state scientists

According to recent research published in the journal Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, communities of microorganisms within a cow's stomach have the ability to break down plastic and help it decay in a possibly sustainable fashion. According to experts, the bacteria come from the rumen, which is one of the biggest compartments of a bovine stomach where food is gathered and ruminated throughout the day in a bovine's body.
