Age limit of Chief Of Defence Staff fixed at 65 years

Govt has decided to put a cap on the age limit for the post of Chief of Defence Staff to 65 years, as per a notification released by the Defence Ministry. The Chief of Defence Staff will also be serving as a single point of contact for the different branches of the armed forces. This will also be applicable to the Principal Military Adviser to the Defence Minister. The CDS would be paid a salary equivalent to a service chief.
