Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Ashish Bhatia takes charge as Gujarat DGP

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Ashish Bhatia has been appointed as the Director-General of Police, Gujarat. Bhatia will take the charge from Shivanand Jha who was given an extension of 3 months amid the Covid19 pandemic and has now retired. The 58-year-old anti-terror expert is a 1985 batch Indian Police Service officer. Bhatia was previously the DGP of state CID-Crime and Railways and Commissioner of Surat Police.
