Almost 8,80,000 children may die due to coronavirus in next 1 yr, most likely in India: UNICEF

According to a UNICEF report, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has put million children lives in South Asia at risk. The report warns that more than 880,000 children of age 5 and under may die over the next 12 months and most deaths will likely occur in India and Pakistan. UNICEF report predicts a large spike in the no of children living in poverty because of the social and economic repercussions of COVID-19.
