Anti-epilepsy drug can be re-purposed for Covid-19: Scientist writes to ICMR to test it

A leading scientist Neel Sarovar Bhavesh at the ICGEB in New Delhi suggested that valproic acid, an anti-epilepsy drug can be re-purposed and used for acute cases of coronavirus. He has written to the director-general of the ICMR to test valproic acid at the NIV, Pune or any ICMR lab to find a quick solution to coronavirus crisis. Valproic acid is an approved drug whose patent has expired recently.
