Are we heading towards society of lawlessness?: Ex-CJI on Hyderabad encounter

Amid the questions around the encounter killing of 4 accused in the Hyderabad rape and murder case, former CJI R M Lodha said the country is struggling to protect human rights of citizens and such crimes reflect the "deep malice" that has crept in the society. Are we heading towards a society of lawlessness? Has the rule of law run its course? What happened to the constitutional rights and procedural safeguards," asked Lodha.
