As govt approved 4 names for elevation, SC now have 31 judges

After a lot of discussions, the central government has approved 4 names- justice Aniruddha Bose, justice A S Bopanna, justice B R Gavai, and justice Surya Kant for the elevation to the Supreme Court on Wednesday. With the approval of the names, the number of judges at the apex court has now increased from 27 to 31. Earlier the centre was against the promotion of justices Bose & Bopanna due to seniority and regions.
