Australia's indigenous people farmed bananas over 2000 years ago

Archaeologists claimed that they have discovered ancient farms managed by Australia's indigenous peoples, which is over 2145 years located in a tiny island north of Torres Strait. Researchers have found banana microfossils, stone tools, charcoal & a series of retaining walls at the site. Their research shows the ancestors of Goegmulgal people of Mabuyag were engaged in complex, diverse cultivation & horticultural practices.
