Bail plea of comedian Munawar Faruqui rejected by MP High Court

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has rejected the bail plea of stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. The comedian was arrested for insulting Hindu gods on a complaint by the head of a local outfit, Eklavya Singh Gaur. While citing the evidence available, the court held Faruqui responsible for "outraging religious feelings of a class of citizens of India with the deliberate intendment." Another case has been filed against the comic in UP.
