Bangladesh declares Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar a ‘Covid-19 red zone’

Cox’s Bazar municipality, home to the biggest Rohingya refugee cluster in the world, has been placed under lockdown and some areas in the district have even been declared as coronavirus red zones by the Bangladeshi government as the number of coronavirus cases are on a rise. Cox’s Bazar has so far recorded 877 coronavirus cases, with the Sadar Upazila area in the district having the maximum number of infections at 364.
