According to sources familiar with the situation, the Indian government is investigating the financial books of Carlsberg's local business in response to suspicions of potential fraud. The Registrar of Companies has sent a notice to Carlsberg India requesting a response and is prepared to convene the board of directors shortly, according to the sources, who asked not to be identified because the information are confidential.
