Centre to inspect direct, indirect Chinese connection before finalising BPCL bidder

Amid the ongoing border dispute between India and China, the central government has decided it will inspect the direct and indirect Chinese participation before declaring the name of the highest bidder for the state-run Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL). The centre will also evaluate other security risks associated with the bidding. The bidding is being done to achieve the disinvestment target of Rs 2.10 lakh crore.
