Citizenship Bill protests: Massive protest breaks out in Assam, 5,000 paramilitary personnel deployed

The situation in the North-Eastern states, specially Assam has worsen after the Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed in Lok Sabha. Tens of thousands of protesters including students and locals came out in streets to show their dissent. The protest soon turned violent as the police forces came in contact with the protestors and lathi-charged. Over 5,000 paramilitary personnel have rushed to the state to tackle the situation.
